Egypt's Sisi submits his 2018 presidential candidacy documents to the NEA

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's presidential campaign submitted his presidential candidacy papers to Egypt's National Elections Authority headquarter in Downtown Cairo early yesterday.

The official spokesperson of El-Sisi's presidential campaign Mohamed Bahaa Abu Shouka presented to the NEA his presidential candidacy papers including public endorsements whether from citizens or from Members of parliaments.

According to the Presidential elections law and the Egyptian constitution, presidential Candidates must receive endorsements from a minimum of 20 MPs, or 25,000 citizens from at least 15 governorates, with at least 1,000 endorsements from each governorate.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi who declared his intentions to run for a second term on Friday is considered the first candidate officially to present his candidacy papers.
